What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Audience feedback is an incredibly useful tool in decision making during the planning stage and development stage, not only does it allow you to create for an audience and get second opinions of things that I as a producer may have missed.

During my research stage I did a post and explored into exactly who would be my target audience so that I would have a better understanding of the demographics of who the main viewer base of my music video would be. Using comments from 'alternative' genre videos to gain an understanding of who would watch the video on a mainstream platform such as youtube. The only problem with this method is that it only includes their opinions and not other information that could be useful like location, age, gender and interests that would help give a more defined demographic for me to work with.

From this I believe that the best fit for my audience would be young females between the ages of 16 - 20 as that was the majority of the users commenting on the same genre of video that I had researched into. In relation to the Theory of Income brackets, my audience under this theory being in the lowest bracket 'E' that includes 'the unemployed, students, casual workers and pensioners' as the majority of my audience will be made up of young students. Students are often grouped in with their parents as they are usually the main earner of the house, a large problem with this is that a younger person and their parents will often have different tastes in music and by technically being there parents group they would be consuming media out of their 'group'.

I have used my audience to help decide between many different options during planning an example of this would be the fonts. Gathering a selection of fonts from the website 'Dafont.com' and creating a simple tally chart, this gives a quick and simple way to get audience feedback and steer me in the right direction of what the audience may prefer over my personal preference/bias to get the most effective outcome for choices in many aspects of my work.
